140 Year Celebration Of Czech Trams

Isn't that just typical... I bet some people waited for ages for a tram and then they all came along at once.

I do like the manual device being towed behind some trams to transfer the trolley pole onto the right wire. I don't think it will catch on.

What a super selection of Cars. Nice to see some Wagons on the Work Cars as well. Knew that there were quite a few restored bits of Old Iron about in Czeck, this Vid shows just how comprehensive that collection is. Brill post.

Brilliant!
Had to explain to the Grandkids about 'trolley wires', trolley-buses (Am from Nottingham originally) and trams..
We then had a discussion about 'where the electricity goes' in the rails, as eldest GD (9 years old) thought everyone would get a shock.

Youngest (the one *really* into trains) now wants a trip to Crich..

Brilliant. Hate to think of the power usage on that bit of overhead!

Even more of the same celebrations from a different viewpoint.

I was intrigued by the way some of the older trams had their trolley poles converted into a "pole-bow". At least it didn't spark as did some of the older trams operating under bow and pantograph wiring!
