A Very Happy New Year to everyone.
When this tram arrived, it was an unpowered trailer, all cream that had been converted from a motor car as there was still a panto attached. The motor block had long since disappeared under something else, but it did come complete with the PCB for a four prong LGB motor block. a short time later, I bought a LGB sound tender, which was designated for spare parts, and had a very nice 4 prong motor block. So, a complete strip down of the trailer took place and it was a fairly straight forward job to fit the tender block into the tram. The four wires from the PCB were soldered to the existing plug that had been fitted to the tender. Tram 28 was then repainted into Mohawk Valley colours and set to work from the overhead via the switch on the PCB. New magnetic couplers were fitted and decals added. The tram kept its original number, 28, and is pictured waiting to be transferred from the workbench up to the loft where it will enter service.
There are another six of these wonderful trams to be repainted (4 trailers and 2 motor cars) along with 7 Bachmann/Lilliput ones that will be fitted with replacement fronts or vestibules. Happy days!
