Hi again everyone
After the enjoyment from my first scratch build a couple of months ago I decided to have a go at another building. This time it will be for an island platform directly opposite my first scratch build building.
Due to the great weather so far in this Spring in Wales I have been laying the foundations for my track in the garden too. So once more is done and some track is laid I will post some pictures of that too.
I wanted to have a go at making a closed off window using the brick effect. Here it it
I then built some poles which will hold the station roof up. These were achieved by using two different thickness of pipes which were glued then rounded off using plumbers putty. This was then sanded to get it as smooth as possible (The photo below was taken before the sanding took place)
I then started putting the building together
This is with all the poles glued to the roof supports
I then added a trim to the edge (this idea was inspired by Cardiff Central station - One I use most weeks to travel back and forth to work)
I then added roof tiles
I then added a kitchen chimney as I want the building part of the station to be a little takeaway place. This was the same pipe used for the middle of the poles holding the roof up. The top of the pipe is an off cut from decorators calk tube (I learnt from the garden railway program to never throw anything away). This was then glued on using a couple of plastic thing strips.
