4065 Rear Truck doesn't return to center?

Just got the all but new 4065 caboose out of the trunk to set up the holiday train. It is a '97 model. The rear truck stays swung out to whichever side the last curve it rounded was. The only problem that this causes is that the clearance for the cute little lamps on the back whack my bridge as the caboose goes through. This is a new "feature". The lamps lift off of course, but last time I had this set out of the box it worked fine. Any suggestions?

A very small amount of lubrication? You've obviously checked foreign body's or muck causing the boogie pivot to stick

I use coupling rods to solve this kind if problem on 2 axle trucks on bends. These are adjustable brass rods attached to the axles which make one axle turn when the other turns and straighten when the other straighten etc. You can get them as kits for any truck wheelbase from Bernd Betz or make them yourself. I wrote a review if these I'll see if I can find it.
EDIT: here Installing LGB Container Wagon Wheel Set Control Kit - G Scale Central

Or you can fit a single 'bristle' from a plastic-bristled yard-brush..

Fix to back of coupler/bogie and hot-glue to the underside of the wagon/coach. - Start long, and shorten if you need more 'power' to straighten the wheels.

But do check bogie/truck is free to move. - May need to ease-off the pivot screw a fraction?

Yep, the last axle of the last wagon is never going to self-centre.

Let's face it, pivoting 2-w bogies are a pretty horrible idea, but ................... if the pivot point was forward of the axle, then you'd stand a better chance, although the bogie would have a greater swing

Will start with the simplest one and work up from there.
Thanks ---Hutch

Locking the rear bogie worked perfectly! Not will it clear my 1/24th bridge, but the train will now back up without de-railing, which it would never do before. I hate to admit it, but we haven't had this train out in this house, we've only been here here since 2005, why rush things.
Thanks to all for the brilliant suggestions. ---Hutch

Kadee sells a set of springs and holders to keep the truck centered. K-839 is the part number for a package that has 2 pairs of these to do one 2 axle LGB car.
