7/8ths" Scale 'Jack" in action

Hi folks
I think that the 18" gauge Hunslet "Jack" from the John Knowles system has to be one of my favourite narrow gauge locos. This one was scratch built by Ray Wyborn, a few years ago, using Roundhouse cylinders and motion. Roy Wood and I made a quick video of it running on his railway just before we made the Victory videos posted recently. It is a great slow runner, but was a bit fast in the clips so I have edited it at half speed.

Here is a photo of Jack, taken at the SLR and you can find the video here:

And on my website news page as usual.
Cheers
Chris

Good job it is scratchbuilt or I'd be in the phone to buy one! Lovely model of one if my favourite prototypes. I've been lucky to have a go with another example in weathered green and with Rc, again a scratchbuild but the Sand Hutton version.
Thanks Chris for sharing.

Thanks guys - and yes Jack is very tasty indeed. It would be very easy for Roundhouse to produce one as the chassis is pretty well the same as Katie. It just needs a smokebox and cab.........
Cheers
Chris

Well send them the pics to see if they'll oblige, the Accucraft Hunslet nearly tipped me back to live steam and that certainly would. Maybe I need to drop some hints to the nice Mr Pearce at Warley as I'll have a few of his locos on my layout it should convince him I'm serious ;)
