Having come to the realisation that track power on the EG&SNNR won't be restored until next year the purchase of an additional battery-fitted locomotive was being contemplated.
When the owner of the Broome Lake and Eastern offered a battery/sound-fitted Forney for sale recently it was decided that this would be too good idea to turn down for the EG&SNNR. Don kindly delivered the loco to Peter Spoerer who supplied me with a Revolution 57000 and linked it to the Forney. The loco arrived today and was introduced to its new surroundings:
The new surroundings are probably a little more hilly than experienced on the Broome Lake & Eastern but the Forney had no problems climbing the mountains as can be seen leaving Black Bridge:
.....on and up:
....little bit higher:
...and finally reaching the top of the line with Black Bridge in the background:
The descent starts on the approach to Blue Bridge:
....after which it is all downhill:
Unfortunately there's not time today to get out some rolling stock for the Forney to haul as early tomorrow it's off to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford to have my bent septum straightened. Assuming all goes well should be home Friday afternoon so think the Jubilee Holiday will be spent finding some appropriate rolling stock for No.11 and doing some serious testing.......
