The ultimate challenge; The Alexandra Fountain....
I have searched high and low for a figurine of the Patron Saint of tram and railways, Queen Victoria and I can`t find one. I doubt that I have the skills to carve her and I cant even find a file to print a 150mm “statue” of her.....

So I decided to go with a nice Victorian Fountain (which would have amused her) and of course the chosen one is the Alexandra Fountain at Bendigo. It has all the elements I like, it will look spectacular at night, lots of detail and of course Trams ran past on their way to Eaglehawk and Golden Sq where the Bendigo gold rush actually started, its a nice urban myth that they paved the streets with gold there, but there would have been enough gold to do the job... Bendigo is an “immersive” city where I like to just immerse myself in the architecture and the ambience and the fountain will fit in well with my fictitious city.

The site will be the same place as QV was going to go, I just need to modify the kerbs...

As to making this I have a few ideas, I’m thinking the basin and standards (the stone bits) could best be made by making the parts in some suitable material then making a mould and casting them in fake stone aka fine sand and resin – I`m open for suggestions.....
Yes it will be a working edifice...
