After a wait of at least three years got a phone call from Andy at Kent Garden Rail yesterday advising that the long awaited Goose #4 had arrived. Details were exchanged and a large red box was delivered by Fed Ex just before lunch.

Although the EG&SNNR is in non-operational mode until next year as the sun was shining a photo shoot was deemed necessary:

...and having looked at this picture see that the back bogie is off the track:wits:

At the moment only have access to picture of another two members of the Gaggle:

It's good to see that the new arrival has a completely different cab unit and different livery on the trailer. Think it was worth the wait.

They look really grand

Yep, they are horrible looking ugly things.......but that's why I like them:bigsmile::thumbup::rolf::thumbup:

Before cutting the grass this afternoon delved into the steps and came up with another couple of geese. Firstly, no.7:

I dont know how to say this but in one of the other pics the front bogie is off the track as well:rolf:
well the flange is on top of the rail at least.....

Very nice Keith :)

" Beauty is in the eye of the beholder " , so they say. To the accountant for the Rio Grande Southern they were beautiful. To a cash strapped railroad in the 1930's struggling to survive , they were a beautiful sight coming down the track with mail and small goods packages. :D
I have ridden in # 2 & # 7 , # 6 is yet to come . They have character unlike anything else on rails . They seem to go in all different directions at the same time when they are running down the track , honking and clanking.

I too admire them! Beyond my budget really. Have thought of scratch building the odd one though. Nice collection indeed:thumbup:

wow-beautiful models
they look like the real thing
do they light up nicely too-looking at those headlamps and center lamp and markers -would love to see it lighted-presume there are tail lights as well?

They all look terrific, I only have one at the moment - Goose No1, But Im hoping to add to that with a no 2, 4, or 6 - they will run on my Modular Fn3 layout.
Do you have sound or DCC in any of them Keith ?

An update, thanks to another G Scale member I have just ordered a s/h Goose, No 2 - and this one has sound fitted. Should be here tommorow so will be able to test run it, and check the sound.
Its a completley different animal to Goose No1 which I already have, I think next I will go for Goose No 6 - These locos will al feature on my Modular Fn3 (1:20.3) layout, all will have sound - I think its going to be slightly noisier shows
