I couldn't resist posting a few photos of my new loco purchased at Llanfair. It runs beautifully and is very controllable. The lining was apparently done by Matt Acton (Sir Haydn) and really finishes the loco off. I think it looks superb.

I had my doubts about this loco when I saw the first pre-production shots from Accucraft but it really is a fantastic loco and definitely worth the money.

And a blinking good job you did. It looks brilliant, infinately better than just plain and far more 'real' like.

wow that lining makes it! out of interest is it quieter on the burner than ragleth. That's my (slight) disapointment with it

The burner is very quiet, not sure if it's quieter than your Ragleth though as I haven't heard it
It steams very well and the water sight glass and top up valve mean you can raise steam very quickly and just top it up. The lining and plates really do make a difference though, I'm really pleased with it.

Having thought about it - mine is pretty quiet too, but I can't remember if I have put gauze on the burner or not!! D'oh - over 50's disease. I can certainly turn the burner down much lower than on the Mortimer, probably as the boiler is much smaller in diameter but the burner is the same. As James is, I am very pleased with mine, it's a little cracker! A very steady runner, and pulls more than you might imagine given not all the weight is adhesive.

I've made a few mods to my Leader and thought I'd post a few photos. The smokebox is matt black and has a headlamp attached, I've drilled the safety valve cover out and fitted a couple of pieces of brass tube and finally I've added a few cans of oil which the Sittingbourne locos always carried around. It runs beautifully too.
