Accucraft / Trackshack W&L private owner wagon

This arrived in the post today and while it is the now well known Accucraft model it's the first wagon they have done with a more complicated livery. Very nice printing of the lettering in a solid white.
As usual it comes with 32 and 45mm wheels and is crisply moulded and the maroon is a nice deep red matching the colour of the real wagon from the research conducted by a friend who produces these in O scale.
In short an excellent model and available with different numbers too.

Mr Shack came around this afternoon with mine being as I can't get out, nice feller that he is. Pretty impressed, nice printing and a good colour, it'll look great outside. :)

Looks superb, I find myself more and more certain that I'll build a proper W&L inspired line one day, although hopefully in 009 - the biggest issue being lack of a suitable kit for the Beyer Peacock.

I know what you mean James, but I think I'll have to stick with German at the moment.

A super little wagon ! W&L fans must be pleased with those models.

Paul if Kev could find some way of scaling his artwork down to 4mm he'd be on to a winner! I'd love his models in 009!

Only a modest 4 acquired (after all, one's got to leave room on the hook for some of those cattle wagons as knotty says). Not only are they very good - both the PO and the GW versions - but it is particularly good that Accucraft have produced the latest GW version with new numbers, which is what tempted me to add to the existing GW fleet. This is excellent psychology - LGB please note!

And congratulations to John not just for a prompt despatch but also for allowing those of us who pre-ordered to mix and match between the GW and PO items.

Thanks for the feedback chaps, yes very pleased with the Peate wagons and as has been mentioned there are new running numbers for both the GW and W&L liveried variants of this wagon.

Some of you may have noticed my mind wandering as to the possibilities, there is a W&L brake van lined up for production in early BR Bauxite livery - going a bit generic/rule 8 here - all sorts of possibilities for what can be marshalled with the van ;) ;)

Happy steamings,

John

John, do you think there's any possibility that Accucraft might make the brake van in it's later form without the balcony end one day? They ran in this form for a heck of a lot longer than they ran in the earlier form and would be much more correct for the loco as modelled in GWR condition. I know that GRS used to make a kit, but they tell me that they stopped making it some time ago due to the Accucraft range reducing demand.

I am yank outline but must say that that little wagon is really desirable. British outline really has a great temptation value......no must not detour....must keep on US......oh dear....................

Or........you can go for the best of both worlds...........as I did
But then you may find yourself drawn to the darkside...........live steam :nail:
UK narrow gauge and live steam tend to go hand in hand

Big problem is my predelection for scenery, it really gets in the way of 'mixed' running. My layout is very much themed as US late 30s to early 60s..... not so good for lovely Brit trains.
But, there again, I suppose I do run 'out of era' Amtrak specials and an SD50 freight and also every now and then even a Brit Class 66 container train graces the line (let alone visiting locos etc).... so perhaps I might just, one day way into the future, venture into Brit steam/deisel outline. But definitely for the moment, I will leave it to those like Mel and his superb British scenic layout.
