Accucraft W&L Countess/Earl Conversion to Battery Power

Hi, I'm am newbie an this is my first post since joining the group this evening so here goes....

I have recived an new electric Accucraft Countes/Earl from John at Track Shack (GWR Green) and have been merrily converting it to battery power and improving the cab cosmetics (more about the cab some other time).

Well... With Battery Pack in the Boiler space, switching in the smoke box, Aristicraft Revolution Train Engineer Receiver in the side tank and Train Engineer wireless 2.4ghz transmitter I now have a very responsive engine with slow running capabilities. This now allows me to run in an instant and is a nice change from the steam powered version.

Hope this helps others who are thinking about taking the plunge to undertake a similar conversion.

All the best,
Greenmodelmonkey

No problem John and when I have the times I shall post. Trialing at moment but Aristocraft demands a high voltage before it slows/stops (>12v ish...). I have probably run for 1.5 hrs continous + all the stuff I was doing to get used to setup, etc. Bad news for me was I had left the main switch in the locoon and believe the reciver drained most of my power without moving (noticed when I took photos!).

For those that are interested the paint job on the cab gubbins and pipework etc is very thick and is hiding a fair amount of nice crisp detail ... so if you are brave try removing like I did!

Nice loco and welcome to the forum Mick....
