I have my Spectrum Hoppers changed to kadee on 2 cars each at one side to let the train together.
I have no porter, but maybe there will be difficulties of the big overhang with this loco.
On the one side no known coupler will work in curves, on the other hand the hoppling and swinging may cause problems on tracks filled in the middle (like crossings or industrial tracks over places. nother difficult place are the tables over the mechanical part of a switch. Or overstanding guiderails at crossings.
The metal bows of kadees need to be as near as possible to the magnets to work properly.
Swinging or hard changes in grading leads to collisions with that bows.
Nevertheless i WOULD change to cadee.
Me, i DID and i dont regret.
BUT especially for switching, i would take the g-scale kadees.
I took the gauge 1 couplers and found them a bit small, making all a bit difficult in perfect coupling.
But it looks even better.
Greetings
Frank
