El cheapo, Large scale tram set South American Manufacture track included. Alyn

Is that yours Alyn? Lots of possibilities I think!

Mick

Being a tinplate train nut....

My memory was they were not cheap, but I do remember Sidestreet Bannerworks (Mark Horovitz of "Garden Railways" magazine fame) used to sell them in the 1980s along with being the US agent for Roundhouse. They were some strange gauge which Marc warned you was "compatible with absolutely nothing". The manufacturer started with an "F", Fontanya, Fontain, etc.

Alyn, are they still available, where did you find this? I saw one set sell for stupid money on eBay a while back, and forgot all about them until now.

...one other thing, in the 1980s they were AC, all you need is an old Lionel (Hornby O?) power supply to operate them.

Not sure but would an old-style Marklin be OK?

If I can dig out my old SS catalog from the '80s, I could tell you the scale/gauge and specs....

Again, are these being made/sold now?

That is on Ebay over here. Caught my interest, but not enough to buy it>

If it runs on 45mm track, I'd like to get my hands on one!

Looked on eBay, but no luck, could you post a link or item number please. I am surprised these are still being made.

As I posted above, they were some gauge that was compatible with nothing. And someone has moved my SS Bannerworks catalog from where it should be, so I cannot post what the gauge is/was.
