any one got one they want to sell?

dont need the 10 channel one, just one of the basic orange jobbies
but many thanks

Hi,

I have 2 or 3 , new complete which I have never used and do not think I ever will.

But would need to look for them in one of many boxes.

Alex

if you find them let me know

Sparky, the Orange TEs are PWC (Pulse Width Control) and not suitable for Some LGB locos with MTS chips.

You will fry the circuit board if you run LGB on these TEs.

I suggest the 10 channel one which can be set to linear, would be better, especially for LGB and USAT trains....

none of my locos have any electronics, nor have i a need for them
all my trackwork and trackwork to be is analogue, using reed switches for loops and block working.

I prefer the pulse width modulation for my needs, it gives me lights and reasonable brighness and enought smoke from the stacks.

No worries mate?

Just wanted to make sure you knew about PWC, which I can now see that you are....

Hi Alex , I could be interested in one of these basic train engineer systems if you have another spare, subject to cost
vpgcre

its the loco ..the magic smoke escapes

It's the loco electronics. PWM is know to wreck some decoders and voltage regulating circuits in LGB and other locos.

You beat me to it Mike.

I use pwc or pwm a lot in my work so i understand it quite
well , U might guess by user name i'm Electrical Engineer by trade.

Hi,
If this is what you are looking for, then I have found my 2 sets. They are both new unsed and complete with US power supply and instructions.

I have no idea what they are worth or what postage from France would be.

From what I can see on the US power supply, these are 120V units Alex.

So they would need a UK-US transformer (240-120V) before they can be used over here, or anywhere in Europe for that matter? (I have a small one somewhere here at home, which I'll have a look for shortly.)

Still, it might not put Sparky off as he'll be aware of this....

woundnt worry me as i wont be using them with the original power supplys anyway as a basic train engineer can handle 2Amps they would be fed from a large Switch mode supply with overcurent protection.

Having lööked for the sales records without any luck, any ideas as to how much a complete set is worht ?

i'm trying to find out without any sucesss
there not listed on any uk site i can find

cant find anyone currently suppling it seperatly from a lil criiter starter set,

if it helps a lil critter set with the loco, 2 wagons and a circle of track and the basic train engineer seems to be between £175 and £215

I believe these Orange TEs were only sold with sets here in the UK....
