Just obtained one to join my fleet. I am really impressed what a good runner it is, really smooth. The head light certainley lit the garden up well tonight during tests lol. Dont suppose anyone has one they dont want, in exchange for the Bachmann narrowgauge 45ton centre cab narrow gauge loco???? long shot, but worth a try.

Paul,

got a couple of them myself and, as you say, lovely little runners!

If you're that taken with them, you want to get one of the Aristo Centre Cabs!
Two of the same motor blocks, goes round R1's with ease, plenty of room in the shell for more weight to improve traction even further or for chipping & sound ......

I don't think that the centre cabs have the same block. The Critter has the longer block (ART29361) with a universal joint so one axle swivels and has side frames with big coiled springs. see this pic http://www.wholesaletrains.com/Detail.asp?ID=5005
The centre cab has the smaller blocks (ART29356) with more 'dummy' looking side frames.

They are both great runners and I've use them both for many scratchbuilds. You can buy them separately at Wholesaletrains.com. Interestingly, the better one (Critter) is less expensive.

Hi Nico.

I recently asked "Aristo" the same i.e. fitting both Sound and a Revolution TE Receiver to the Lil Ctitter and the Centre Cab.

They said it would be "very difficult to fit them to the Lil Critter-probably involving removing the interior of the cab, but no problem with the Cenre Cab.

I am thinking of buying one or the other, buy I am waiting till I can confirm that the Lil Citter can be modified.

Hope someone can say YES - theyv'e done it!!

Ive converted one of my Lil Critters to DCC with no issues just involved lots of rewireing. I used a massoth decoder and it fitted under the front hood with no problems.
