During the past few months there have been many discussions about WLDS systems and what is needed for them to work here on GScaleCentral.

This year at the Diamondhead International Steamup here in Mississippi [US], Bill Ford demonstrated both his automatic water level detection system and an electric pump which is activated by the detector.

If you are interested, here's his Internet site: http://www.wldssystem.weebly.com < Link To www.wldssystem.weebly.com and his email address is: bfinduswlds@gmail.com.

By the way, it works with distilled water.

An aquaintence of mine in Cheltenham has been working on one of these for a number of years for model boats, where it is even more difficult to keep track of the water level. (that's inside the boat, not outside, of course!):rolf::rolf::rolf:

I'll draw his attention to this.

Re: No Deterioration
On the basis of a question about the longevity of water level detection systems, I asked the question of Bill Ford at Diamondhead. Here's his response:

"Hey Will, my name is Bill Ford, I have specifically designed, manufactured and sold my single probe system for use with distilled water for the last 7 years with no deterioration of the probe. I have received no complaints or issues with 100s of systems with no deterioration the probe in the last seven years of operation."

I hope this will alleviate fears about such a system.

Regards,
Will
