I'm looking for some flexible leads to connect loco to tender, and have assumed that silicone leads are the most flexible. The wires that I currently use ('scuse the pun) are a bit too stiff.

The problem is that all of these leads are advertised by their AWG size on evilbay, and while I can find a table that converts AWG to mm2, how does that rate to amperage?

I'd be looking at a 3 amp cable, I would have thought, so what AWG is that ? :nerd::nerd::nerd:

1.5 mm2 should be fine....

I've used servo connector wire. I purchased servo connectors off Ebay in 24" lengths. Each connector consists of three wires. I just cut what I need and put my own male/female banana style plugs on the ends.

17 AWG is 2.9 amp and 16 AWG is 3.7 amp; although there is some variation between tables. 1.5 sq mm is slightly bigger than 16 AWG; 1 sq mm is pretty close to 17 AWG.
