I am keen on the open Bachman tram and now have three, mainly repaired, but all have the same running number. Has any member found a solvent or any other method of removing these numbers without damaging the base colour? These trams look great running in the dark reminiscent of the Isle of Man summer cars.

Too much of a good thing is nearly enough.
I think the Bachmann trams are great, and the usual rough sounding motor suits them!
I tried various methods to remove the fleet numbers, but in the end found the best solution was to repaint the entire tram.

You could try a fibreglass eraser and rub very carefully then to cover the blemish give the entire panel a coat of clear matte varnish.... Worked for me....
In desperation I tried a number of solvents, no movement until acetone which disturbed the yellow but not the red, so onto methyl-ethyl-ketone. That ruined it completely!Humbrol no 154 insignia yellow is a fair match so I am going to paint over the numbers.
Thank you for your contributions, I think the complete repaint above looks lovely but beyond me. I am now happy with the appearance.
