Bachmann Annie; Tender Connection

Hoping to get a better response, I have asked this question here, rather than on my 10-Wheeler thread.

At the back of the loco (Annie chassis) are two 2-pin connectors for the tender, one is power to/from the tender, the other is the "chuff" sensor, my question is what type of connectors are these. My mogul has connections and these are JST-XH, but the Annie ones are different. Any help on either specific replacements of commercially available "similar" items would be appreciated, many thanks.

The cream coloured ones that Aristo use on some of their boards for 2-pin connections - dunno the name

Are you needing both female and male connectors?
JST PH2 female connectors will fit onto the Bachmann OEM males.
I think that the Bachmann 2 pin open prong connectors, that they used on the Ten Wheelers, were like a molex design. They are 'wire to board connectors like their SPOX connectors.
The pitch of the prongs is the same as the JST connectors.

here is a page in US:

I replaced mine with these (Aristocraft) used them:

I can find various 2-pole connector pairs..
I *might* have two pairs if those illustrated in Post#3, as the are supplied with Phoenix Sound kits..

I should be able to find some of those..

I will have a look this evening.. It requires a little tunnelling and excavation! ;)

Here you go, Jimmy..

Will be in the post tomorrow..

Would appear that there are JST Connectors and there are JST Connectors.

The Red ones on the left are the type that Fosworks uses in all of his Plug and Play setups.
The White Kit on the Right are I think the types that Micron use for their Deltang setups.

Both types (the white ones clearly) can be got in Kit form from Amazon and presumably other outlets so that you can build your own sets up. Just search JST Connectors on Amazon to be bewildered by the varying types and colours that are all apparently JST Connectors, some in kit for, some made up with wire even some in kit form with Crimpers.

Jon, yes JST (Japanese Solder-less Technology) have at least dozens, if not hundreds of connection types, just check out amazon under JST :)

Yep, those red ones, as Tony Walsham indicated, will just about, with a push and a shove, fit the type on the Bachmann Annie, but I've only tried it one way ......... I think using a red male plug :wondering::wondering:

The 'red' connectors, are JST-RCY - Also known a 'BEC' connectors by many, and are ubiquitous in Radio-Control circles.

The particular connectors on this loco/tender, are Molex KF2510 2.54mm 2-pin - these go up to 12-piins, and there are similar with differing pitch between the pins as well.
They come in 'straight' and 'right-angle' types, and are used extensively to join circuit boards together. :nerd:

With all these families of connectors, it is a good idea to check across the connector-pair, that wire-colour / polarity is maintained..
Mostly, there is a 'de-facto' standard, but the worst offender is the black JST-SM, where even if you buy them as 'paired' connectors, you may receive this:

We're back to our navy training - green to green, red to red, complete safety, go ahead.

I took apart an old computer and found the 100 mil connectors were the same as LGB's. I used a blow torch and heated the backside of the mother board and just 'slapped' the connectors out on the ground. I saved the matching cables. Only issue is these are not keyed, but if you use a 3 pin connector and make the end pins common and the middle pin the second wire, all be be ok. No cost and recycling to boot.
