hi everyone -does anyone know -is the wheelflange height on a bachmann annie anniversary model 4-6-0-the same as on a spectrum 2-6-0 mogul -I am asking as I run a mogul on peco gauge1 track but I am thinking of getting a 4-6-0-regards to all

Flying around Australia today (Canberra dammit) but will try to check tonight & post tomorrow if nobody else does first.

Steve

Yeah, you should be OK. The Bachmann flanges generally are not as deep as LGB.

I don't have a Mogul, but I have a Connie, and the flanges look pretty similar to the Annie.

I can go and cast a ruler over it tomorrow if you like.

My Bachmann Annies run fine on Peco track and points - no problems at all.

Just realised you said Gauge 1 track - I was referring to Peco 45mm g-scale track - sorry - it's an age thing!

Hi
I run severan 4-6-0 Bachmanns on Gauge 1 without any problems (unless I overdo the ballast!)
check my YouTube footage(s)

Here's a quick photo showing the Anni Annie clearance on the Peco SL800 track

p.s. Forgot to mention the weathered 4-6-0 (W&ARR on YouTube) is/was a brand new Anniversary Annie

A bit late I know..... but whilst testing my Annie 4-6-0 to US 1860s 4-4-0 conversion today I remembered (that I had forgotten to mention) there are 'Y' shape insets on the frogs for Peco SL800 series points which need to be removed to accommodate deeper depths of flange including the Bachmann 4-6-0s. The switches come with detailed information in the pack, but I can email a scan for info if you need it.

I have the anniversary Annie and it just will not run on my layout, it jumps at every available opportunity, yet I also run a GP9 with 8 100ton hoppers and they run fine.
It appears to need more weight on the front 4 lead wheels..
Any ideas, I'm at a loss..

Yes Andy, I had a similar problem particularly with the Camel conversion because I have installed pointwork with gradients leading off. My answer was to cut lead sheet (offcuts from domestic roof/chimney flashing) into an 'H' shape then bend/clip them over the front truck.... I have had a few PC crashes recently but will attempt to recover the photos I previously posted here and add them to the thread.

Decided it would be quicker to take a couple of new pics, I think they make sense without dismantling the loco for a better view.... I mentioned an 'H' shape previously, but to accommodate the pivot point, you need to make up two 'T's.... hope it works for you but I am happy to answer any questions!
