Hi
The Bachmann 'big hauler' boxcars, stockcars and reefers are based largely on narrow gauge 30ft jobbies. They are 1:22.5 scale and look quite big when seen alongside 1:29 standard gauge cars.
BUT....They do look small when alongside Bachmann and Accuraft 1:20.3 narrow gauge cars. Although Bachmann have produced a couple of 'shortie' cars in 1:22.5 and 1:20.3.
It is interesting that you can put some Bachamnn 1:22.5 cars behind a 1:20.3 loco and they sort of look okay but if you put 1:20.3 cars behind a 1:22.5 loco it just doesn't kook right at all!

Yup, they're all the same height, and to understand why, you have to look at a picture of the D&RGW in yellow livery with a box car up front - they're not as tall as the Jackson Sharpe coaches.

LGB, Bachmann, Aristo 1:24 - they're all about the same size :bigsmile:

The Bachmann 1:20.3 20 footers are a bit shorter - I think it's because they're based on 2 ft gauge prototypes
