hi everyone -I have just bought a spectrum mogul -it has two guide plungers located just inside the centre pair of drivers -the drivers have no flanges -the plungers foul on the tops of some of the point sleepers and also foul near the point frog section -stopping it- these plungers are held in place with 2 screws -I have taken them off and the loco seems to run ok -does anyone know if this will cause any problems in the future -I am using 10 foot diameter curves -and a big radius point -the loco looks really nice but I am not so sure about some of these flimsy plasic bits -still with care it might be ok -regards to all

Hi Graybold,
I have done the same and there has been no trouble - they were put there by Bachmann for some reason, I think to stop the centre wheel falling off the rails - it does not seem to do so without it. The result was that the loco did not like going round sharp curves; the 'fix' is as you (& me) have done, though your curves are certainly not sharp!

Keep them though with the screws so the unit can be replaced if you sell it.
