Baguley Drewery Minimum Radius?

Big Trains
So the Accucraft UK site says 2'6" as do most of the advertisers but the information sheet in the loco say LGB R1 or 2' - which is it?

Seems fine on R1 but is it designed to go on a curve that tight?

Not sure what you're worried about, if it goes round...........it goes round.

The only thing that can happen is it could accelerate the wear on the rail-head and the wheel flanges, but it's a long slow process.

You are probably right - I worry too much :(

It seems ok on R1 curves and through R1 points too.

Is this the new Baguley or the original?

The original has flangless centre wheels so is fine on R1's.

The new one I think has flanges on all wheels, which could explain the minimum 2' 6" rad recommendation.

Correct, there are no blind axles on the new one. probably why it is such a good hauler. Mine pulled a 36 axle train clean up my 1:40, and also did a standing start with it on there as well.

Mine is a new version too.

Given the small wheelbase I should imagine that the new one would probably do R1's, but Accucraft erring on the side of caution probably don't recommend it.

Rather than wheelbase issues, might also be a case of excessive coupling overhang on R1 which might drag the stock off the track? Can't remember the last time I ran my (original run) Baggy set on R1 but I'm sure it has done so at some point and I don't remember any problems.

I think unless you're hauling something like the IoM Pairs or W & L Pickering coaches coupling overhang isn't a problem. Ran L&B and W&L frieght stock with mine plus IoM four wheelers. All went around R1 behind the Baguley with no worries.

(Cue Gratuitous piccy of Baguley on R1 curve)
