Has anyone purchased one of these kits? If so, what is your opinion?

My good lady bought me one for Christmas :D :D

I have started the build, and am mating it to an Essel chassis.

From what I have seen and constructed so far, I would thoroughly recommend it. It is well made, complete down to material for the glazing, and Banta has actually built one himself.

I am just adding the overlays to the basic cabin sides. Bob Banta suggests not using woodglue, but spray adhesive. Being a contrary sod, I am pursing the woodglue method which makes things slow, as you have to clamp every piece in various places to prevent warping, and you have to wait for each piece to set. However, my choice is based on the fact that my models live in an unheated shed, and that my trains run out in most weathers (if I can put up with the weather, the train is expected to do the same ;) )

I did post a piccie on Sunday - more next weekend with a little luck 8) 8) 8)
