Winter running can be somewhat uncomfortable and possibly infrequent so cleaning the track is a chore for the odd run.
Step in the Aristo Class 66 with it`s battery running facility. Hang on a minute, its also got brilliant lights front and back together with a well lit cab (front and back) so lets run at night as well!
In our `neck of the woods` we seem to get windy days and still nights, so with a load of Bachmann loggers on the drawbar and sound switch on lets run a `Night Freight`      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7YLWex1CsM&t=57

It makes a change to see your railway at night Trevor, all other vids I have watched have been in the daytime. I know exactly what you mean about windy days and calm nights, it has been much the same everywhere in the UK I believe.
The Class 66 is a lovely loco but modelling a short line in the Shenadoah Valley I could not find a place for one here.
I think it sad that a downturn in large scale railroading came about as it did. I believe Aristo would have made another UK offering if things had worked out better for them - and us of course.
