Body Mount Kadee on an Annie Tender

Hello again
I would like to fit a body mounted Kadee coupler on the tender of my Bachmann Annie. Does anybody know the best type of coupler/ fitting etc?
Thanks
Bill

[align=center]this is the catalog page but its not very helpful, I would think that the same one that fits the Aristo 040 tender would do, are you using the #1 or the G?

I never write down what I use so not much help but the 040 is a standard short shank with straight stock, but came in a pack with the loco front one, and that is angle cranked and looks the same as the front one for the Aristo FA, but without all those washers.

[align=center]I think it is the 830 as I emember getting a few of these sets,

Kadee do a booklet which lists all the models each one fots but if you send yer address I will send you a copy

Hello again
Been looking at the Kadee website for some time. I have got some 830 couplers but they seem too long and will foul the wheel set. I thought that the 835 would be better as it is shorter?

I have an Annie and some time ago replaced the Bachmann couplers with Kadee. They produce a special pack for the 4-6-0 and the details can be found here.

The pack includes two couplers each different, one for the front of the loco and one for the Tender. I didn't install the loco coupler at first, only the one on the tender so I could use it to pull all my rolling stock which is all converted to Kadee so I can use the uncoupling system for shunting games.
I thoroughly recommend the 791 packet.
If you only want to put a coupler on the tender you could use an 831 which I think is the same as supplied for the tender in the 791 packet.

My apologies. I was babysitting a 22month old grandson and got distracted when reading your post.
Try an 830 then. It will probably need some packing.
Ensure you have a height gauge to check the correct height. I found this invaluable for checking all my Kadee mounts.
Alternatively you can use one particular mount as the benchmark for all the others, except if you want to run gear in someone else's garden you may have problems. So I still recommend a Kadee gauge.
I have successfully used these, 830s, on some of my rolling stock (Bachmann 20' flat cars) that already had body mounts, so were easy to install.

Hello and I know the feeling well with the grandkids.

As I said in a earlier post, I have played with using the 830 but it seems too long and fouls the rear wheel and I have checked its height with my Kadee Coupler height tool.
