Building a platform

May fledgling garden railway is in need of a platform, so taking some inspiration from http://www.gardenrailwayclub.com/workshop/philip-brockbank-1 < Link To this site I bought some cheap end on line tiles and set to work.

So far I've built up the walls in the shape required for my line.

I've built the walls using grout, with wire coat hangers cut and fixed at random points (to add strength when concrete is added in the middle!). The plastic on the base is ducting for wiring up station lamps and the uprights will be either fence posts or are placeholders for lamps/signs.

Next up some concreting!

Looking good - that's going to certainly look the part in situ - and great planning to get some ductwork in for the lighting now!

Very Nice work! Natural stone tiles are very vertsatile.... (sorry could't resist) speaking as a person who has spent many hours laying them as paving....

Just thinking about building platforms. What width have you used?

It was measured to fit the station building on the "looks about right" scale! I'll get my ruler out and post some measurements soon.
