Centre coupling heights

Hello all,

I've recently brought myself an ip engineering coach kit and in the instructions it mentions that the height of the bogies can be adjusted to change the coupling height?

What I wanted to ask is what height are the 16mm style chain couplings usually mounted? I was tempted to mount them at the same height as the buffers on my LGB stock but I wondered if this might hinder operation with any roundhouse or accucraft stock I might acquire in the future?

You also have to consider the severity of the curves on your railway Ricky to ensure that the bogies clear the side frames - especially if you're going to use the coach on R1's, or even R2's. I'd be inclined to get the bogey clearances right and then you can position the couplings to suit.

I've fitted hoop and link couplings to a couple of mine.
 
Ahh I hadn't considered that Mel, I will have to and do some testing when I progress.
