My 1986 Roundhouse Charles Pooter had an outing on Tuesday to haul David Turner`s superb Atropos Schull & Skibbereen coaches. I had forgotten how pleasant meths firing can be....

wow, lovely steam effects in the cold weather. is it a pot boiler? nearly bought a lady anne meths but put off as a pot. yours runs well tho... mart

Yes, the Charles Pooter is a pot boiler and runs beautifully. Once you have the wicks adjusted correctly it is very simple and the burner is silent. The thing is that these locos are now nearly 30 years old and so it helps to see it run before you buy. I bought a wreck and you can read the story here:
