I needed some more buildings for a planned village, but kit building are priced in excess of £90, so to buy four building would have cost an awful lot of money. So a cheaper way of build was needed.

I visited B&Q and bought some cheap tongue and groove cladding. This is how I constructed the houses.

This is the wood Cost approx (sorry that the pic is the wrong way up) £5

Four pieces were cut 25cm long

Some wood was cut with my saw bench 15mm x 15mm

The 25cm long wood was nailed with 15mm nails, I used my electric nailer for this.

The 16cm pieces were then nailed to make an oblong

Wood was then cut to shape to form the roof.

The roof for these buildings will be completed during the week:thumbup:

So far, I made 4 houses and a bungalow from the wood that was bought.

Here they are in there intended place with there own station:thumbup:

Cracking idea - thanks for sharing with us ...
- really looking forward to see the completed items !

A good way to built strong, durable outdoor structures. I join the others in awaiting their completion.
I have used left over decking for some of my structures - quite heavy and strong winds have little effect upon them.. I have found that mock doors and windows are easier to make and have the advantage that small critters etc. cannot set up home inside the buildings. ;)
