Hello,
as most of you know i'm trying to collect the full RhB Coop train, the refrigerator cars are white..
Some of them have dirty marks on them, just wondering if anybody has something that can get rid of these marks?
and yes i have tried soapy water and cloths..

try a cotton bud and a little bit of jif, done that before, try it on the underneath first to make sure it doesnt lift the finsh.

Baby wipes - I use these for all sorts of cleaning purposes on models! They're gentle on plastic and paint but do take the grot off well.

Elbow grease....

If the mark is grease an alkahol swap is a safe way to start with as supplied as with tape casset and CD cleaning kits. Meths will remove permanent marker and other inks.

Be original and leave them. When did anything white ever stay spotless?

Have you thought of the dishwasher?:bigsmile:

I've used the dishwasher and it fades LGB paint on some models but works great if you want to de-grease to re-paint!

Try rubbing it with BluTac......seriously, it works on other surfaces...

The mind (well mine at least) boggles :rolf:
Seriously though I once bought a fridge/freezer of a well known mark as it had suffered travel damage. Ten minutes with a sponge and jif/cif or some equal cream cleaner and the the thing was as good as new - sold it four years later for a profit

Provided what made the mark is on the surface and has not gone into the finish/colour coat might I suggest a little light rubbing with "T-Cut" auto paint restorer. It is a mild abrasive so test it on a hidden area first, keep it away from any surface Tampo printed decoration and go easy with the rubbing so you don't go through the paint finish. Works for me every time. Great for getting rid of "orange peel" paint finishes too and polishing up plastics.

Max.

Another option for making all your LGB look pristine are those Sponge Shoe Cleaners that you can get, sometimes for free in Hotels. Also do a bit of cleaning but shine up your stock a treat. Just the thing before you flog them of if you like immaculate clean shiny stock.

my thought also-try it on the bottom first
even a super light abrasive can change the sheen-and this may show up as shiny in a semi matte area

the shoe cleaners are impregnated with silicon-it will sit on the top and appear shiny until it wears off or ohterwise disappates
also, with rubbing and certain mineral based compounds the ink may soften; sometimes the printing can smeer ever so slightly

a very very light cutting abrasive may be the thing,
with the above caveats
provided its on the surface-in looking, im not certain that it is
as the docs say-first do no harm-ive learned this the hard way-try an inconspicuous area
