Colour choices!

Hi all

I recently put an order in for a nice new RH Katie and am absolutely stumped :wits: as to what colour to give it.

Just wondering if any Katie or RH in general owners have any favourite colour. What do they wear best? Has anybody got a Katie in darjeeling blue?

Also has anyone on here EVER seen or owned a roundhouse in signal red the same as the buffer beams? What is it like?

Lots of questions but its one of those impossible choices!

Many thanks

Pete

(btw ive been to the factory which made the choice even harder!)

That's a real hard one as everybody has their own favourites. The green is very nice, but I like blue and lined. In the end the choice is your's alone, but I'm sure you will be happy with which ever it is.

It seems that there are a lot of boring green locos out there so another colour would be more interesting.

Yes I do want something different - but looks good. Thats why im interested in seeing darjeeling or signal red on a Katie. Besides, ive pretty much ruled out the greens because ive got my eye on a green accucraft lew when they come around!

My preference for what it is worth would be lined Midland Red (Crimson)

Well Pete - that is a tough one. I like the blue - see attached - but I like all the others too! Choose one that gives you a buzz - and then if you can get it lined that makes it even better.

Come to think of it, the latest blue might be a tad darker.....
Cheers

Looking very nice there Chis!

Tis really just a choice between one of the two blues or mid green. just need to see one in darj blue though:- Perhaps will add a bit of himalayan magic?

I have Katie in RH Blue, but I really like the RH Maroon colour . If I were on the other side of the pond I would have it repainted Maroon and lined by Lightlines in gold .

The Victorian maroon make's all the models I've seen it in look good. I must admit mine are green & black though. It depends what look you are trying to achieve.
Cheers Garry

I'm too late to suggest tan, then......

Maroon's good though, too.....

Tony, that's a nice job on that last Katie, looks very 'real' and not too fussy. Impressed.

Thank you. The chap I did it for had come up with a very precise specification as he was attempting to produce the 0-4-0ST that the Lynton & Barnstaple never had, if you see what I mean, and hence the bronze green lined in black and white. Also included were new buffer beams, vacuum pipes, glazed spectacles, Accucraft couplings and a removeable centre section in the cab back - which took a bit of thinking about.
