Coupling change

Hi all. I've just finished converting my Schoema to battery rc, quite a tight fit but all in there. I fitted a dpdt switch so that it can operate from either the rc or track power, so it won't be out of operation should the batteries die, although the 2600 mAh set has been going for 3 hours so far with no let up. Now, during this testing I have found a little problem with the rear coupler. Being an older Schoema it has one of the small loop couplings, and the hook has no swivel to it, so when pulling bogie stock the hook actually derails the loco on an s section of track. Has anyone managed to change these couplings to the larger type loop and plastic sprung hooks? The coupling looks to be part of the detachable block that clips to the motor block, and isn't one of the normal type couplers like stock and newer locos have.
Help please!
Many thanks,
Tim

Ah, scrap my plea for help, I found out how to get the coupling out, but have found it's shank completely different to standard ones. But I think the dremel and a file may do well to make the replacement similar. Here goes....

What I do is to remove hooks on all locomotives, make the loop drop by between 20 and 30 thou with a small shim of plasticard between loop and mounting. Then ensure that all rollingb stock has hooks. Problems solved.
