Cow Catchers or Pilots

Hi folks
Yesterday I received a couple of the first Swift Sixteen cow catchers(or should that be "Pilots"?) out of the mould. They are brass, lost wax castings and are built to last.

Aster a quick clean up and etch prime, I sprayed them satin black and baked them in the oven. Then I drilled them to fit the Roundhouse centres and tried one on Katie and Argyll. What do you think?
Cheers
Chris

I would paint them red , but they certainly look the part :thumbup:

Gives them an Irish flavour (appropriate for today, of course) rather than a British look - especially Argyll - wouldn't have looked out of place on the Arigna coal trains.

Aster, Chris? Freudian slip!

Looks well on the Argyll, less sure about Katie.

No Neil - just dreaming :D

I agree that Katie needs work - I like Shawn's wooden beam idea - perhaps a bigger lamp too......

Yes PG - definitely a touch of the Irish for St Patrick's day;)

Not sure about the red garry - the L&B had red beams and black catchers..... It might look better on Katie though......

Cheers

I think it's the rounded corners on Katie that don't quite suit the pilot.
Maybe swapping for a Billy buffer beam would be more suited, like Argyll.

I just tried the cow catcher on my Owain/Ragleth - just on with double sided tape for the photo.
Cheers
