Just posted a guide to getting started with Deltang radio control gear on my blog.

http://riksrailway.blogspot.com/2015/08/getting-started-with-deltang.html

Hopefully it will prove useful in clearing away some of the fog when first starting out. It seems a bit wordy, but not sure how I could have explained it with fewer words. (I have tried to include pictures though).

Hi Rik.
Great review.
As you are probably aware I too use Deltang TX2 RF modules OME for my range of TX hand-pieces.
As well thought out as it is, I chose not to opt for the Selecta system as I needed to maximise the number of accessory functions that can be operated.
I look forward with relish to your explanation of how to program the system.

At this time I have no interest in battery operation myself, but I did find this to be an interesting, informative and well written article that may well inspire others to have a go at battery power.

An excellent article. It answered a number of questions for me, including some that I didn't know I wanted to ask. I am now looking forward to the "pending" parts.

So will Deltang become the new "Dark Side" :D :D

I'm converted. First loco done and just ordered the RX and battery pack for number two. Basically doing one per month until I've filled the twelve channels on the TX.

Yes it is a good guide. I set up 4 locos to use Deltang Selecta last winter and found it very easy. The circuit I used is exactly as described in the guide to allow for easy recharge. Must confess I didn't put a fuse in the circuit at first but I realised that was a bad omission before anything went wrong.

I have found this system works well straight out of the box. I had a problem recently and found Deltang customer service to be helpful and very fast.

Great guide Rik, as usual ;)

I have just invested in a Deltang Tx kit and Rx to play about with.

Tony, I have been using your old 27mhz 'elite' system in all my locos for years and a looking at upgrading to your version of Deltang- mainly interested in sound triggers.
Can you control more than one loco with the same handset? I.E have 2 bound locos switched on, with one out on the track and one parked on a siding and control them individually?
Cheers

Hello Alec.
Thanks for your support over the years.
In a couple of days I will have an upgrade of the RCS website completed. There will be one TX available that can run two locos independently at the same time.
The TX-6 will feature Centre OFF control with two sound triggers per loco.

Hi Tony, thanks for your reply. Would be interested in seeing further details of the TX6 once available.

Hello Jon.

That is just one of eight different TX hand-pieces I am now offering. Four for Live Steam, four for Battery R/C.

The home page will show what I mean.

Another Deltang convert here, and it was partly Rik's blog that convinced me to take the plunge and give RC a go. I have one trailing car (more or less) ready to go, and one Stainz converted to work with it. I'm working through the rest of the fleet one by one, but am in no particular rush.
