Here's one for you non track- powered followers. Originally I intended to convert this into a tram/light rail unit but too many other things to do now. It's 45mm gauge but scale is more towards the 1/29 end of the market, despite the figures which were provided with it. They have now found a new home in my OE restaurant car as they seemed good for 1/24. Runs on 4 x AA batteries and has forward-off-reverse lever on the side. There is also a reversing lever underneath which presumably was track operated. I've tried this out on the layout and it runs well. The power unit has rubber traction tyres on the single axle motor bogie, and also flashing headlights, but the aforementioned switch underneath fouls on points or anything between the rails as it protrudes below railhead height. Sound is included and cannot be turned off. You get an American whistle blast first (travelling in either direction) followed by a continuous 'chuff'. Obviously in used and played with condition, but the only real damage apparent is the broken coupling between the power car and the coach. The roof comes off the coach and has some rather nice aircraft style seats. The coach and rear unpowered end have twin axle bogies. The driver's cab 'window' each end opens to allow a figure to be inserted. Price of £12 includes post and packing to UK only.
