Real Gooey FC undertook a very successful tour of Ruritania a few months ago. The results were a win against Sporting Pootank, a disappointing loss to the Royal Ruritanian Air Force (despite of the fact that they could only muster 10 players) and a very diplomatic 0-0 draw against Racing Club Zenda. At the end of the tour, His Serene Highness held a reception in his palace and presented the Gooey players with a most kind gift - a pile of bricks made at the Polapiko Brick Works which were left over after the building of one of Ruritanian Railway's magnificent structures. These bricks have been stored in the WGLR's central hub (AKA, the shed) ever since. But today they have been put to good use.
The shunter's siding at Gooey has always provided a small coaling stage for steam locos, but in recent times the shunting turn has become the provence of diesels. Rather than having to travel the short distance to Gooey depot. for refuelling, these diesels can now be topped up in situ.
The tank is from a Hartland wagon, the pump is an old Britains model re-cycled from my Scalextric layout and so is out of scale, but hey ho.
Still a little work to do before bedding it in ...... I'm not even sure that it will actually end up in this exact location? However, maybe His Serene Highness will be invited to unveil the new structure? He might even be allowed to handle the nozzle for 10 minutes?
