Dismantling a Stainz

I am in need of a refresher course on dismantling a Stainz #2. This would be the version with the older round lighting socket receptacles, smoke unit operated by a lever switch at the bottom of the smoke stack, Metal drive rods and newer type motor block.

In particular, I would like to salvage the nicely striped cab. It's always been a mystery to me on the removal of the cab alone.

With the older Stainz you have to take both the cab and boiler off. Undo the screws to the rear and under side of the cab, undo the nut that hold the chimney on then the bit that people miss is to undo the screws holding the top of the valve gear to the undersides of the bunkers, then all should lift off. The cab should then slide of the boiler but you may need to cut or unsolder some of the wiring.
