Early Diesel Locomotive refueling

I need some help please, I am trying to find some images of early light rail diesel locomotive refueling positions, diesel storage ie tanks
did they have elevated delivery tanks , or was it pumped from rolling stock tanker. or did they just whip down to the local BP and fill her up?
I have tried to find this info, but no luck. Happy New Year !

From experience of Lawn Mower Bashing (little rail powered critters) I have seen lots of differing methods, an Oil Drum on a raised platform appeared to be quite popular as isi just a drum and a hand pump, sadly no pics for you.

Yes Jon, it seems to be a dark secret as to how they did it. I tend to lean toward the raised platform with a tank. I'll try asking at my Garden Railway club, a few guys there were train Drivers, will let you know.

In my part of the world it was often pumped by hand from 44 gallon drums on the ground when there only one or two locos were on hand. If the fleet grew larger than that, more sophisticated methods were employed

Empty drums went back to the local fuel supplier for refilling.
