Came across these on Ebay. Build by a master builder David Fletcher. These are one off models.

I`ve always been an admirer of Mr Fletcher`s work and used it as an inspiration for my paltry attemps at kitbashing a Connie. I have his stuff bookmarked along with a few others http://4largescale.com/fletch/index.htm . A true master.

Problem is, looking at the "0" bids with one day to go, when it comes to sell it is just another kitbashed loco to most others. And of a type that features in close-out sales right now to boot. However beautifully the conversion has been done, it`s also the wrong loco in the wrong place. Can`t see too many potential buyers in Aus`, plenty in the US maybe but then what is the shipping cost ? That`s got to be factored in to any bid especialy if you can get the base engine for arounnd Aus` $200.

I`d be very worried as a buyer when it comes to shipping some of the more radical creations some make, say a Connie to K-27, regarding their ability to arrive in the configuration as intended. Stunning bits of modelling and construction but they just might not have the structural integrity of a purpose built manufactured item. Just look at the problems some have getting a stock item shipped in one piece in stock packaging. Anyone been following Richie`s thread. Roll on 3D printing, then we can have anything we want anyway we want it.........one day and if we have the skils  ;)
