I recall seeing a video, I think it was Chris Bird, who was pulled but a 45mm shay? so it can be done!

Yes indeed Daniel - though it seems like a long time ago now! The shay started and hauled 250lbs up a 1% gradient. The profile of the nice, dry aluminium rails helped I think.
