Sorry if this is in the wrong place, however I cannot find the tech help now the menu for the forum has moved.

The problem is I have posted this Modified Playmobil 4010 for Sale however I wish to make a small change to the title, if I use edit thread it the top r/h corner:

or go to the bottom of the page and use Edit:

I get the same error message:

1737997476980.png

However there isn't a box to enter an email into!!!

I think it is always best to use a PM for email addresses.

I think I remember that even the Author only has a limited amount of time to edit a message?

JimmyB JimmyB To put in the corrct e-mail address you have to go to the top of the page and click on your name & avatar, this takes you to yor profile page where you can set the e-mail under 'account details' and make any other changes you wish. That should make the error message go away and let you alter your thread. Don't worry about the elapsed time since posting your ad as it plays no rôle.

On both of my other sales this year I have been able to edit without issue, and days/weeks after, this error message is new.

That maybe so, but the system asks for one, but has nowhere to put it.
Oh ok, has Pugies Post helped? Not listed anything for ages.

Just checked, as you has said, and my email is correct in my account, as I mentioned, I have been able to edit sales previously (just last week) without issue.

Hm, very strange. The only other thing I would do is completely log out, erase the forum cookie from the computer then log in again. This worked for me before, not on this forum but two others. As Jon has said Paul is the best person to take a look and I already asked him where the forum help section has gone.

Logged out, closed the browser, opened the browser, logged in, no change. Don't know how to erase (or find) the forum cookie!

Didn't we have an update, which prompted the 'accept the t's & c's' message?

Perhaps an unintended consequence?

I run Firefox where it is under
Tools -> Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Cookies and Site Data -> Manage Data.
I would expect other browsers to have the same system but under different names unless using a fruit based OS where nothing is the same.

On my iPad the way is to clear all history for all time. It works in the iPhone as well. Not found any other way in the Settings but as they are so disorganized and complex who knows?

Yes, that Clear ALL Cookies, no site specific:
Ah, in Firefox at the 'Privacy and Security' page there are three options:
Clear Data - this shows the page you have illustrated with the same options as to what types of cookie get deleted along with the time range
Manage Data - here a list of cookies from the sites visited are shown, the ones you don't want to keep can be selected and deleted.
Manage Exceptions - allow sites of your choice to add themselves if other blocking options are active.
Obviously and probably the most useful is 'Manage Data' which I go through every couple of days and remove the cookies of sites that I visited once and no longer need. The cookies of sites that I will return to along with sites where I have a list (Amazon, eBay etc) are kept. I did once clear the entire cache recently as a program wouldn't work properly, it was TomTom and requires internet access to work, and had to go through the sites I use putting in my login details, not a problem as they are all noted down.
So basically what you probably want is a previous page from the one shown where the equivalent of 'Manage Data' is shown and you can delete what you ddo not want. If all else fails I would Google the problem for your specific browser e.g. 'Cortana delete cookies'.

No what I meant was you should clear the cookie from whichever browser you normally use, I only mentioned the Firefox method as an example as I don't use any other browser. I'm not an IT geek but I would have thought that each browser keeps its own records. I think it best to see what our illustrious Administrator Administrator comes up with.

I used Firefox, as it is “clean”, but still refused to work, with the cache cleaned out.

At this point my computer would be describing an arc between my 2nd floor office and the road below. I really have no more ideas, I think Paul is the only one who can give us the answers. Sorry.
