Hi guys!
Yesterday my Mamod Mark II arrived. Of course I had to steam it immediately on rollers.
Likewise tonight the 2nd and 3rd steam up.
Results so far:
Gas & Steam Regulators are very well controllable, the forward reverse lever works pretty fine.
Therefore the Mark II is able to run at scale speed.
Steam up until the safety valve starts releasing steam needed 5 minutes each, on the first run the gastank was empty after 25 minutes, the following two each 27 minutes.
Remaining water between 35 and 40 ml.
Overall performance on rollers: backwards seems to be slightly smoother than forward direction. Let´s see how the loco performs after 5 to 10 steam ups; I guess after bedding in it will run in both directions equaly smooth.
In comparison to the Regner LumberJack - which has also oscillating cylinders - I´m really impressed by this little tiny loco because so far it´s better controllable.
I hope I could manage to upload some pics afterwards so you could compare the size next to my Millie.
In addition here´s a link with a short video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tIYQkLzZGw
When zooming out you could see the chimney "under steam".
regards, Klaus
