Fitting a Kadee on an LGB Fat Boy

Hello again
I would like to fit a Kadee coupler to the front of my LGB Fat Boy 2-4-0. The Kadee website seems to have a problem with this. Anybody any experience of this conversion?

Hello
If this works, you should have a picture of the front beam. It comes off easily but looks like it needs quite a bit of cutting to get a Kadee to fit.

Being somwhat dissapointed in the useless apology of a coupler that LGB persisted in fitting to the front of the American loco's and also because it precluded any idea of running backwards whilst pulling a load, though I must add the same applies to the older bachmann 10 wheelers, I made up an adaptor that fitted into the square hole and stepped down so that the coupler of choice could be fitted to the adaptor. the adaptor I made of wood but paxoline or tufnel would work just as well.
If I get time to figure out how to do it I will try and post a pic. The adaptor is held in place on the Bachmann loco's by a removable pin and whilst it is a little bulky and not prototypical it does mean I can doublehead 2 ten wheelers which I find quite satisfying.
hope this helps.

Back when i only had a few loco's i fitted a couple of kadees to both a backman big hauler and an lgb fat boy.
I bought a couple of kadee 'conversion packet' No 1791 (for lgb 2019s/2119 and Mogul 2219s
The pack had enough parts to do the front of the big hauler and a coupling for the rear of the tender
It was easy to mod the coupling to fit the fat boy just needed a little triming.
I did find the cow catcher was not man enough to haul much and needed stifening up a touch
I also modified the second tender coupler in the pack to fit a second fboy, sorry no pic and loco long passed on
Pic of Tender coupler left from one packet

as you can see it could be trimed to fit in the small front slot but would have the spring box showing

It actually did not look to bad but the mogul front coupler looked better
