Having been asked if I could post something about how I have fitted Massoth Couplers to locos, here goes.
It's fairly straightforward, just follow the instructions that come with the chips, and set them up to your preferred function number, I use 16.
But experience has thrown up some observations.
LGB and Massoth chips sometimes have problems working two couplers at once, so you may need an adapter, or a function chip to do the job.
Ensuring the cable is not trapped, has resulted in some interesting routing of it.
Modifications to the loco may be needed, even on the easy fit options, had to do some cutting and drilling on the locos, and even some filing on the coupler motor housing to get it to fit.
Anyhow pictures say a thousand words.
Stainz.
Rear is straightforward just a hole and a notch to run the wire, front you can either cut into the gearbox cover or modify the front coupling and plow, to move the coupler forward. (Have to say it's something I have copied from something I found on the web.)

Ge 4/4
Sort of the same, bogie modified to suit, hole for wire, and I fitted a function chip for the couplers, after it struggled to operate two via the existing set up, my preference.
D4
Basically the same as the Ge 4/4, but more of a tear down to get the cable routed. It was fiddly and my ten thumbs don't help.
This is the one where I had to file the coupling as it was too long to fit where the original was. The tops of the motor housing screw fixing shafts had to be trimmed down as well.
Screw housing I had to trim to fit.
