All,
After some perceived wisdom here..
Am rebuilding a dropped Forney. Amongst other things, the cow-catcher and bracket were broken / missing. I have a cow-catcher 'kit' of spares:
This has a block which slides on at the back, and is held by one of the small screws.
To mount this to the block, there is a bracket which is not available as a spare part. This screws to the block, and appears it would also slide together, and then be secured with a screw..
I have made a piece to fasten to the block, and another small piece to 'bridge' between this and the cow-catcher.. I now need to fasten this lot together. - The pieces I have fabricated are 120 thou plasticard.
I have some Technicoll 8008 adhesive and MEK as weapons of choice. Also a supply of black double-side automotive tape. Am thinking of MEK to join the plasticard pieces, and either the Technicoll, or tape to join bracket to cow-catcher.
My thoughts are if it gets bashed, the tape will have some give, and possibly tear before the whole lots breaks.
Failing that, I use the Technicoll to gap-fill, and try to make the whole thing one solid lump.
Any thoughts from those in the know please?
