I may have mentioned before that not only are the Accucraft jackson Sharp coaches to large for my wallet, I have a nasty feeling that they could be too large for my clearances :-

And so for some while I have been planning, pondering, summoning up the courage to build one :nail::nail::nail:

Not sure how I'm going to build the roof, but I think the easiest solution will be a duck billed end. It just has to be a clerestory roof, but we'll worry about that later.

Anyway, I have started.

Sides are ply with planks glued on - timber from Cornwall model boats. The white plastic window frames are for dolls houses.

Alec

there are some great ideas there - I'd already been thinking along the lines of a set of wooden frets.

The rest is a bit worrying - master class this ain't :laugh:

If I can get something that meets the 10 ft rule, then I'll be happy.

Some of the black and white phots have thrown in some good ideas as well :thumbup:

Great to see you have made a start Ian on your 1:20.3 combine looks very nice so far

It's a bit laborious - I was tempted to copy the Glasgow metro, and leave the other side rough :rolf::rolf::rolf::rolf::rolf:

Neat bit of work there. I like the window detailing - a good idea.

Looking really nice Ian

Mmmmm very nice Ian. This is certainly one to follow :clap:

It's a game of two halves :bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmile:

Next comees the choice of ends - well I s'pose I shall have to make both :impatient:

But to do this, I have to work uot the height, and the curvature of the roof. I've got to get the box to sit at the right height on the chassis.

Then will come the roof - tricky :nail::nail:

Looking very Nice Ian

Looking good ........r u going to mass produce them?

For the roof, what about planking it and then covering with material.
Several ideas out there from calico (whatever that might be some sort of fine linen...) to tissue paper.
I been wondering if the stuff you cover model aircraft in would do, can never remember the name.
Making it cellestory could be interesting.
