Have always liked the idea of a live steam loco on my line but have never seen the right loco for me . After seeing Hamish's live steam C-19 run round on my open day i thought that this is the short of loco for me .Then a second hand Accucraft C-16 Bumble Bee came up for sale at Back2bay6 my all time favourite Rio Grande Loco and livery . Steve brought it over and i steamed it up only to find the loco would not go round my corners due to the fine scaled front truck wheels catching the frames so sadly the loco went back :brokeheart:
But then a met a good friend John Campbell at the Telford Show told him of the problem i had with the loco he replyed let me take a look i should be able to sort it 2 days later John brings it over and we steam it up he had replaced the large scale front truck with a smaller wheel which didn't look out of place the loco run round with out a fault Fantastic work from John has got me my all time favourite steamer and this being my first steam loco too A BIG THAHKYOU JOHN
Would also like to thank Trevor Goodman for help and advice with the C-16 loco and Cliff Luscher of Accucraft for the helpful emails .
Here's a few pic's of the C-16 #268 on Rockery Ridge
