G scale flowers

Try a dolls house supplier perhaps.
I have also purchased flower pots, baskets of flowers and foliage from small shops in tourist areas overseas or local art and crafts, scrapbooking or hobbyist suppliers.
Can’t be more name specific as I am in Australia and you’re not!
Cheers

I recently bought some nice G scale flower boxes from POLA but they came without flowers. The shop I bought them from didn't seem to know where to get the actual flowers to put in the boxes. Does anyone have any suggestions? I included a link of the boxes below.

Another option would be to blob some reds and yeloows onto the top,of some Flock (scenic foam) from normal viewing distance the ruse is pretty effective.

My dear sweet wife picked out O-Gauge flowers and bushes at the train store. Of course I went along with her, and like many O-Gauge accessories, they are over scale enough to look perfect.

It is possible to buy flock representations of flowers, hedges etc I get mine at model rail exhibitions BUT they do not like being left outdoors.

When I dressed the tables in my Orient Express restaurant car I used items from the 1/32nd scale Britains Floral Garden range which I picked up at a swap-meet. I also bought an HO scenic set (I think it was a Busch product) which contained both flowers and assorted pots etc. Both are plastic so suitable for outdoor use.

Another option would be to try to find an old plant that you can repaint with outdoor suitable paints. In UK Yarrow is a good option that would work. I also have a plant in the Garden that when it has died back would be fine as well. Both have similar seed heads tonthat shown below. There must be some kind of weeds/flowers that will work in your neck of the woods. It is genarally the seed heads that are useful.

Cuting off the odd branches as seen above will create rather nice flowers. Paint them up then soak them in Glycerine which will help to preserve them for use in a Garden environment. Probably worthwhile to MicroWave them for a minute if using indoors to ensure that any creepy crawley eggs are killed off.

In Australia these plants are called Crassulaceae or Pink Cedum. Grow in semi shade, wait till the flowers brown off, harvest, hang to dry, treat with glycerine or just spray paint them, joining branches together with flower florists tape. Not suitable for outdoors and indoors need not to be manhandled as can be brittle. Plant dies back after flowering when you can separate it to generate new plants or just wait while the plant gets bigger and bigger.
Cheers

I imagine if used outside after colouring a dunk in Waterproof PVA ought to give it a good life in Flower Boxes as required by the originator of this Thread.
