Video shows the original Kingscale unpainted gas fired Gauge 3 Britannia before the various modifications and improvements were made.As can be seen the prototype runs well so the finished engines should be exceptional

Very nice Trevor  Sounds lovely

Lovely!! Just feel a bit dizzy after watching this ...........

Tag's review in Garden Rail was very complementary - tempting - but somehow I don't think my pocket money will stretch quite this far.

It was a really nice thing Rik ? I was certainly impressed by both performance and finish. Unfortunately the Gorton point sod all of an ancestral acre would not allow me space to run such a beast ? even if I could slide it under the radar of the current Mrs G ? so I shall stick to the narrow gauge. I did find it more exiting than G1 however, primarily because there is so much footplate room. It would be very easy to fit an unobtrusive 2.4 system controlling reverser/cut off, regulator and steam whistle. I also like the gas firing system. The loco was very free steaming with the large flatbed burner and, of course with a closed gas system one gets a good display of exhaust. Given the room, one of these with a rake of Mk1 coaches would be the nearest thing to being beside a steam powered main line that one could get.
I did have another thought. Given the fact that the straight though, Accucraft style exhaust produces a reasonable chuff ? how would it sound with a Summerland chuffer?? That would be the first thing that I would try. Cheap and simple to fit.
